SHANGHAI TIMES

SIM CARD

Third time going to Shanghai. Again it was a hectic trip to fly on friday
night and come back on sunday afternoon. What makes it most stressful is
that it takes much longer to go to Tokyo Airport then the actual flight time
to Shanghai. Although this time it was great trip and the gig was absolutely
the best, I felt I grabbed something for this time except that my cell phone
was stolen at Pudong Airport.

Also this time there was a huge demonstration at Shanghai, a Demo against
Japan. Saturday was the first and biggest demo in Shanghai so when I went to
my regular massage salon on that day the traffic was heavier than I have ever seen. Although I didn't got near to the site where the demo was taking over so
I haven't seen any tensed situation there, many Chinese people were saying
that I should be careful. Guess I should have cared more of my cell phone or
I may say I was lucky that I only lost my cell phone but nothing else happened
to me. I was watching the Japanese TV broadcast in the hotel so I had a chance
to see what is really going on at the people's square and the Japanese Embassy
where was hit by the riot but you must realize that most people who live in
Shanghai is not noticed about this demo at all. Even in the local newspaper they
say that there was a demonstration in Hong Kong but nothing is mentioned about what is going on at Shanghai, and by the way the newspaper I read is called
the SHANGHAI Times. Ironic but I guess this is the fact and I hope at least
we understand that the majority in Shanghai has nothing to do with this demo.
It would be easy to find an agreeable solution in between Japan and China
about this situation but if you think about WHY this happened, it's not that
an easy thing. People are frustrated in China and you can feel it when you go,
it is a frustration against their own country but who can really say what you feel
in such place that you can't even get the real news on media, of course
Japanese goverment is not doing the right thing but it is a very strange country
as well China, you cannot blame anyone for what you live for...
